At the museum there is a grinding atelier, where the minerals are prepared for the exhibition or for sale. Cabochons and other forms of jewelry are also produced. Nowadays, our regional flint is mostly grinded because of the high demand, and less frequently the malachites, jasper, pink quartz and other minerals. Products from our grinders go to our jewelry workshop, where “dressed” in silver, leather or wool become original ornaments.
In the atelier you can see the tools used to work the stones and ways of grinding decorative and precious stones, as well as participate in the striped flint grinding show and see for yourself how jewels are created from a natural stone. We provide grinding show for all groups and in the summer (May – October) and during winter holidays – also for individual tourists.
